Additional Information
DWK Tax Law can certainly help with an I.R.S. audit. While working for the I.R.S., the I.R.S. selected me to be an instructor for the Advanced Fraud & Forensic Accounting Program that teaches revenue agents to handle fraud audits. In addition, I frequently advised I.R.S. agents on challenging audits and development of cases. I apply this knowledge to help my clients achieve the best possible results.
In general, I.R.S. audits are divided into three categories: field audits; office audits; and correspondence audits.A field audit, as the name suggests, occurs at the taxpayer’s business or home. The scope of these audits is generally broad. In these cases, to the extent permitted, we insist the I.R.S. performs the audit at our office rather than our client’s office. This generally reduces the stress associated with the audit and minimizes awkward questions and concerns of employees and clients.
An office audit occurs in the I.R.S.’s office and is typically limited to a few selected items. In these audits, we typically determine the issue or issues under audit prior to determining our strategy.A correspondence audit occurs through the mail. In many instances, careful and attentive responses may swiftly limit or conclude the audit.
Product and Services
Phoenix Estate Planning & Tax Lawyer Owing money to the I.R.S. creates a stressful situation for businesses and individuals. The experienced tax attorneys at DWK Tax Law can help.Taxpayers generally owe the I.R.S. because of unfiled tax returns, inability to pay the taxes due when the return was filed, or a liability resulting from an audit.
The I.R.S. sends numerous letters notifying a taxpayer of their debt. The letters and contacts become increasingly more threatening. Often, people ignore the letters until the I.R.S. files a federal tax lien against the taxpayer or a levy on an asset.
In collection cases, we review your current financial situation, your tax debts and discuss various options to ease your burden. I charge by the hour. The more prepared you are for our initial meeting, the more we can accomplish during this meeting. The questionnaire on my website contains much of the information I need to evaluate your case. By the end of our first meeting, we typically have a plan to handle your I.R.S. debt.
